2017 Legislative Session

The race to the finish line of the 2017 legislative session continues at a break neck pace as both chambers spend considerably more time in floor action than previous years.

Rumors abound - with both camps - as to the reason.  
 
There are those who believe this move is a deliberate attempt to clear the field so the legislature can solely focus on resolving the budget. While others, however, believe legislators are focusing on other matters to distract their minds, and possibly those of the electorate, away from the budget. Either way, significant action is progressing on a small, and diminishing, number of bills available for consideration.
